Creation of a Long Term Simulation
First, a calculation model for the long-term simulation has to be applied over several years. The longer the simulation period, the better the significance of the model. The limiting factor here is mostly the data range of the time series, which serve as input time series (Precipitation, Temperature, Evaporation, Inflow Hydrograph). This data should be consistently available and must be linked in the base model.
When creating a new computing variant of a long-term simulation , the control parameters must be specifically defined , the start of the simulation must each begin at 00:00:00 and end of the simulation should be ended at 00:00:00 , the calculation must run on full years. To create a long-term simulation, it is important to set the time step size on 1440 minutes, which corresponds to 24 hours or 1 day respectively. |
When creating a new computing variant of a long-term simulation, the control parameters must be specifically defined. Using the button Feature New a new calculation variant can be created. In Feature View the simulation is started with the button with :
- Description
- The created simulation can be renamed via .A variation is recommended to define the Long-term Simulation.
- Start the Simulation
- The start of the simulation must start at 00:00:00 (example: 01.01.1985 00:00:00).
- End the Simulation
- The end of the simulation must be completed at 00:00:00(example: 31.12.2004 00:00:00). The calculation must run over full years.
- Time step
- To create a long term simulation specify a time steps of 1440 minutes ( which is equal to 24 hours ).
- Version of Kalypso-NA (calculation core)
- Here, the latest version should be selected. (Information about the computing core (see: Computing Core)
- Time series mapping
- The initially loaded fitting time series must be selected in the respective drop-down menu (Precipitation model, Temperature, Evaporation, Water level or Discharge measurement, Inflow, Open water Evaporation), which was assigned to a Time Series model or a Time Series Mapping using the time series mapping function.
