[edit] Digitization of network elements
The spatial discretization of the catchment area is carried out by the division of the area into sub catchments. The river network is divided into nodes and strands. The sub catchments drain into the defined strands.
[edit] Sub Catchments
The sub catchments must be digitized for the later import in KalypsoHydrology as polygon theme. It should be ensured that the polygons are closed, there are no gaps and do not overlap (no multipolygons!). As attributes each area is named consisting of 4 digits. The data has to be stored in Shape format.
[edit] Strands
The strands must be digitized for later import in KalypsoHydrology as line-theme. It should be ensured that each strand has a closed line form (no multi lines!), whereas the river course should be geometrically correct. As attributes, the individual strands will again receive a name consisting of 4 digits. As another attribute the strand-type is set, thereby a differentiation between virtual strands with the attribute 0 and real (Kalinin-Miljukov-strands) with the attribute 1 or reservoir- strands with the attribute 2. The data/file should be stored in shape format.
[edit] Nodes
The node must be digitized for later import in KalypsoHydrology as a dot. As attributes, each node will again receive a name consisting of 4 digits. The data should be stored in shape format.
The naming of the individual elements should be 4 digits. This four-digit number should be greater than 1000 and less than 7999. It should be noted that the designation of ,,8000" is a node outside the catchment and source or initial nodes are named ,,9000". Currently, the maximum number of sub catchments at a strand is limited to 6. If this leads to restrictions, please contact the Institute of River and Coastal Engineering at the Technical University Hamburg- Harburg. |
[edit] Overlay
The areas of overlays must be digitized for the import into KalypsoHydrology as polygon theme. It should be ensured that the polygons are closed, there are no gaps and no overlap. As attributes the surfaces receive an overlay definition and an optional description. The data are to be stored in Shape format. Overlays can be defined as Sustainable Urban Drainage Measured (SUDS, LID: in German: DRWBM) and may define changes in land use or the soil structures.
