Calculation of Evaporation

Calculate Evaporation

The time series of grass evaporation and Lake Evaporation can be imported through the Time Series Import or calculated in the model. The following data series for the stations in the model must exist for the calculation of the evaporation time-series:

  • Mean air humidity [%]
  • Average daily temperature [°C]
  • Mean daily wind speed [m/s]
  • Sunshine duration per day[h/d]

By selecting the station and the action [:File:Zeitreihen Startseite Zoom.png|Calculate Evaporation]]opens the dialogue to calculate evaporation. In the dialog box, the calculation of evaporation is optional according to the following methods:

  • Grass evaporation: After Wendling
  • Grass evaporation: FAO method
  • Lake evaporation: According to Penman-Montheit

The calculations are based on the DVWK Bulletin 238/1996 Determination of evaporation from land and water surface.

Using Weiter Button.jpg opens the dialogue for entering the parameters of the latitude (E.g. Hamburg 53.55) and the property can be specified. The calculation of evaporation is done with Fertigstellen.png. The new series will be stored under the station in the time series management.
