Processing of Overlays
The areas of overlays must be prepared for the import into KalypsoHydrology as polygon theme. It should be ensured that the polygons are closed, there are no gaps and no overlap. As attributes the surfaces receive an overlay definition and an optional description. The data has to be stored in Shape format. Overlays can as be defined as sustainable urban drainage measures (SUDS; in German DRWBM) and may represent changes in land use or the soil structures. The integration of overlays into the model is done by hydrotope / sub-catchment creation as well as in the integration into the network shown in Figure “Integration of overlays”. Integration of Overlays display.
The parameter definitions of overlays are explained here: Parameter Overlays
Important is the dissolve of overlay polygons before importing into KalypsoHydrology. Overlays are included as part of sub-catchment elements in the network plan in processing. Prior reunification of the polygons, the data quantity is reduced. |
